Sally’s Apizza

If you haven’t heard of the famous (or infamous???) Sally’s Apizza then please do yourself the favor and do some research! This New Haven staple began opening other locations, and lucky for me, one of those locations was in Woburn, MA. Over the summer my husband and I were heading up north for a camping trip, and we had the perfect excuse to make a pit stop.

This location is waaaay different than the original location. It is overall very modern and sleek, but too much black and brown for me.

Obviously we were getting the cheese pizza. But we decided to carb load some more and order the garlic bread and the mozzarella sticks. Yes, we were full of bread and cheese, but WHO CARES. The food was freaking fantastic. I’m not sure how some of the most basic food can taste so good. 10/10. I am looking for another excuse to go back as soon as possible. Maybe I’ll just commit to driving the hour…

The menu design sadly does not live up to how great the food is. It is a basic layout with black and red ink. I will say, however, that I do appreciate the little call out on the menu that has proper pronunciation of “apizza” as well as a description of the style of pizza that they serve. I think I’d like to see some fun line drawings…perhaps giving a nod back to the original location in CT.
